The blogosphere is a little poorer today for the loss of “Eugene David.”  His blog had a quirky take on the subjects that were (maybe not so) dear to his heart.  He was a civil servant who excelled at his job (sounds slightly oxymoronic, huh) while keeping up a running commentary via frequent posts to his blog.  His death was sudden and unexpected.  He will be sorely missed by his coworkers and by those who read his work.

I was Gene’s former supervisor now retired; hiring him @ 8 yrs ago. He was an excellent employee, and yes he was a bit quirky. Gene yearned to be part of a family and it seemed his job and coworkers somewhat fulfilled this void. He was highly intelligent and had an outstanding vocabulary. I truly miss Gene. I know, with all my heart, I will never forget you, Gene. I just wish I would have called you that weekend as I had planned. Peace and love is what you finally have!
Hopefully, you are enjoying your pizza in Heaven.

Many of us still miss him at work, Lorraine. He was such a decent person, and did his job quietly, but very efficiently. Things aren’t quite the same without him…

There is a listing about him at this website and you can submit a memory if you’d like: http://www.webcemeteries.com/tributes/default.asp?Id=3414967&frm=Y#
